I  suggest that you 'Maximize' your Browser window to maximize your enjoyment of these images... Hiding the Toolbars (under the 'View' or 'Options' menu) will also enlarge the view...

Note:  some of these pix are optimized for a SCREEN RESOLUTION of 800x600 - they will look too small at 1024x768 (switching rez is Easy though.  Click on:  Start//Settings//Control Panel//Display - then click Settings tab, etc.)

Any listed image not thumbnailed can be viewed by copy&paste the 'filename'.jpg/gif onto the end of the url (address) for this page... (Don't - include date, etc.)

The Harp of Carolan... sort of...
Experimental Texture - on a Fractal-generated Terrain object
Cloaked... A very mysterious image. I love surrealism. Notice the 'Sun Dog' effect on the clouds...

fireflwr.gif 27-Nov-99
More experimental textures - applied to a vase I created from a   'rotated' profile...  Like all Bryce textures, these are algorithmic patterns, which I have tweaked in the 'Deep Texture Editor'...

Try doing these with real glaze!

I have dozens of these, but there isn't enuff room on the server for all of them
( what Else is new...?! )

Machine Head...  a 3D terrain object created with the original KPT Texture
Explorer, now embedded in the Bryce Terrain Editor.
"In Xanadu did Kubla Khan a stately Pleasure Dome decree..."

NEW!  Lattice Replication Series  ( Clik on Thumbnail )

An ancient Artifact - found in a rainforest pool...

OK, enuff Fractal goofing around...  sort of...  In this image, a Bryce fractal terrain, was used to create 3D Water.  This is a 'pure' Bryce render, there is no retouching on the finished image...  Oh, you mite notice that I have also used the Texture Editor on the Clouds...

outpost3.jpg - My first Bryce image using a 3D Model, which I constructed in another program.
This was an improvisation, almost accidental - using several terrains, and a few of my Castle models. Some retouching was done on the final image. (@ 800x600 rez)
RussianTower - my 1st attempt to map artwork onto a 3D model. (Tower inspired by Bilibin illustrations.)  The wildflowers are a single highly-tweaked texture - the rocks are a separate terrain.

To see a New version - and a few examples of how the 'Flower' texture can be manipulated to produce completely different effects, go here >  Russian Spring

Moon Rock 1... These 2 'Moon Rocks' were inspired by an Ad for cloisonne`-style jewelry. This one uses 3 concentric layers with a different texture on each.
moonrock3! - has 2 separate layers, using the same texture map applied at different frequencies.

Reflection Series...  a few new 'Art' pix - most do not yet have their own page - they simply load in a blank window - I need some kind of Automatic page template...

Another NEW Series...  Bryce landscapes based on random images from a program called 'Fractal Z-Plot'...   ( clik on Thumbnail )

Detail of spec art for magazine cover (unfinished...)

Everything here is a 3-D object!  Even the Clouds, which I painted in Pix Pub, then imported into Terrain Editor.  There is a considerable amount of retouching on the final image however, using mainly the cloning and smearing tools.  It's not actually 'finished' yet.

Boolean Test...  This is a close-up perspective view of the 3-D model used in the preceeding image.  A boolean object (which is invisible here) is used to cut out parts of other objects, ie: a window.  In this image, I used the boolean to cut a notch into the top of the wall - the boolean was created in Bryce, the wall itself is a 3D model, a single 'extruded' object I created with 3-D software.
